Whether it be an intricate floral arrangement or a bustling city scene, my process usually begins with my interest in a challenging subject matter.  Watercolor gives me the opportunity to paint with vibrant transparent color to bring the scene alive.  Lately I have been drawn to the doorways and storefronts of New York City and Provincetown.  The craftmanship of architectural detail on the older buildings is fascinating.  With so many of the older storefronts disappearing, it is my artist’s contribution to preserving the history of these charming and beautiful buildings.
