I tend to photograph what I call ideas, influenced by my background and interests, namely math and physics — that is, curves and relationships between shapes/objects; suggestions or implications. 

Noam Chomsky remarked that we have art and music because we can't say everything we want with language.  I use the word abstract as a verb. I often abstract from the real; I never merely create a scene from distorted geometric shapes. 
 
I also create etchings based on my photographs, as well as cyanotypes using both objects and photographs.
