WENDY SHEASBY

Wendy paints her emotions as she responds to the landscapes she has experienced. Having grown up in northern New York, and even visiting there now, she is transported to childhood and the valley of the Adirondacks. She captures her inner memories as opposed to photo realism -- nature through her interpretation. Her large, broad, sweeping strokes have been likened to Milton Avery, enabling the viewer to imbue their own memories into each piece. She creates whimsical, primitive, intuitive expressions of events and places.

Her themes also exhibit abstract expressionism with spontaneous exuberance, often her most exciting pieces. Wendy says, “There’s really no one way an artist can express the feelings that come with each painting. They speak for themselves.”

Wendy exhibited art upstate in The High Peaks Art Show for 30 years before moving to RhInebeck four years ago.
